Sukkalankaa New sock yarn

Nyt sain uuden sukkalangan, jota varten lähetimme villoja kehräämöön syyskuussa. Olen pessyt lankoja ja kokeillut neuloa ja olen oikein tyytyväinen. Lanka on 3-säikeistä suomenlampaan villaa ja siihen on lisätty 10% nailonia, jotta se kestäisi paremmin, sen kehruukierre on hyvin tiukka samasta syystä. Langassa tuntuu lampaan rasva, mikä tekee sen lämpimäksi, mutta koska sitä ei ole käsitelty kemikaaleilla (superwash), suosittelen käsinpesua sukille.
Olin niin tottunut normaaliin 2-säikeiseen lankaamme, joka on hyvin pehmeää ja löyhäkierteistä, että ensin tämä tuntui kovalta, mutta kun siihen tottui, niin eihän se olekaan yhtään kovaa, tiukka kierre tekee sen pehmeämmän oloiseksi. Tämä on aika ohutta lankaa, metrejä 100 grammassa on n 175 ja minun käsialallani sitä piti neuloa 2,5mm puikoilla. Miehelleni tekemiin sukkiin meni n 135g tätä lankaa.

Tätä on vain yhtä väriä lampaanvärisenä toistaiseksi, vaalean harmaana, kuten kuvassa, mutta lähipäivinä on tarkoitus värjätä sitä ainakin indigolla farkunsiniseksi ja myöskin tekisi mieleni kokeilla värjätä sitä useammalla värillä kirjavaksi.

Vyyhdit ovat kooltaan 130-160g, ja kilohinta on sama kuin normaalilla langallamme eli 60Euroa/kg, vyyhtihinnaksi tulee sitten 7,80 -9,60 Eur riippuen vyyhdin painosta
Värjätyt tulevat tietysti olemaan kalliimpia. Laitan kuvia näytille, kunhan saan ne värjättyä.

Now I have the new sock yarn I wrote about in September and I like it. It is 90% Finnsheep wool and 10 % nailon so that it would last longer in socks. For the same reason it has quite tight twist. It is not treated in any way and you can feel the natural lanolin still in the yarn, the lanolin makes it warm, and I recommend handwash for the socks made of this yarn.
I already washed some of the yarn and made socks for my husband of it. I was so used to our normal soft loose twisted yarn, that at first this felt harder, but once I got used to it, I was very happy with it, it is soft enough for socks.
This is thin 3-ply yarn, I knitted it with 2,5mm needles and there are 175m/100grams (about 180yards). I needed 135grams of it for my husbands socks.

So far I have only one color of it, natural light grey, like in the picture above,but I am planning to dye it. First blue like jeans with indigo and I would like to try to dye it with also multiple colors.

The skein sizes are 130-160 grams, that's enough for a pair of socks. The price is same as our normal sheep colored yarns 60Euros/kg, so that would make skein price 7,80.-9,60 Eur, depending on the weight of the skein. Of course the dyed colors will be more expensive. I will post pictures of the dyed yarns as soon as I have them ready.
