Verihelttaseitikkejä kerätessä yhdellä sieniretkellä keräsin myös korillisen kangastatteja, Suillus variegatus, jo vanhoja sieniä. Kuvassa on ovat nuo kaksi isompaa sientä, vasemmanpuolimmaisin on verihelttaseitikki. Kuva on kaunis, mutta ei kovin informatiivinen:)
Tuoreita kokonaisia tatteja oli 1,5kg, murskasin ne, ja keitin reilun tunnin, jonka jälkeen annoin liemen jäähtyä. Tattiliemi pitää siivilöidä tiheän kankaan läpi, se on semmoista limamössöä. Siitä huolimatta läpi pääsee pieniä pillinpaloja tms, jotka aiheuttavat sen, että langasta tulee lievästi kirjavaa. Väri ei ole kirkas niinkuin mitä vaikkapa piiskuilla tulee tällä hetkellä, mutta kuitenkin nätti väri. Eli suhde oli siis 1,5kg sieniä/100g aluna-viinikivipuretettua lankaa.

We have been picking a lot of Cortinarius mushrooms, and one time in the forest I picked also some Suillus variegatus . These were old specimen. In the picture the two on the right are these mushrooms, the smaller on the left is Cortinarius semisanguineus. The picture is nice, but not very informative:)
I had 1,5kg of fresh mushrooms, and and crushed them and boiled for about one hour, then let the bath cool down. You have to strain the bath of these mushrooms through a very fine sieve or cloth. In spite of straining there were some very fine pieces of gills in the final bath, and I think it was because of them that the yarn became slightly semisolid, not bad though. The color is not bright yellow, but rather muted yellow, but I like it anyway.
And the ratio for this color was 1,5kg of Suillus variegatus/ 100g yarn pre-mordanted with alum and cerem of tartar.
