Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-37497507899316010302007-11-22T20:29:00.000+02:002007-11-22T20:29:00.000+02:00Hi Helen,it is so nice to read comments, I have be...Hi Helen,it is so nice to read comments, I have been reading your blog also from the start:)
You are right, mushroom dyeing is more work most of the time, but there are some mushrooms that give their color easier. Another thing is that you need quite a lot of mushrooms to get strong colors and collecting plants from the garden is easier. Even though I write a lot about mushrooms (btw what is the difference between the words mushroom and fungi, which one is correct to use in this context? I like to try to write correct english,so please correct me when I write something funny), most of my dyeings are with indigo, cochineal and madder in terms of how many kilos I dye. I just like to write about something new, not to repeat myself:)Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-5812150275730170352007-11-22T10:20:00.000+02:002007-11-22T10:20:00.000+02:00Hi Leena I have been reading your blog for quite a...Hi Leena I have been reading your blog for quite a few weeks and when you left a message yesterday which was so interesting and encouraging too I did not realise it was the same person whose blog I had been reading till today! I hope that makes sense. I absolutely agree with you about why dye with natural dyes except I have never grown organic vegetables but I do eat them! For me it is the beauty of the colours I find their ocmplexity so satisfying, synthetically dyed colours seem so hard. I remember once seeing a beautiful piece of quilting just using many different shades of blue but spoilt for me because it was synthetic blues not indigo.

I love your colours. I have done very little dyeing with fungi I took a class at Colour Congress 2002 but was not very inspired. beside it seemed like too much hard work having to find the fungi,& identify them. However your colours are so gorgeous it is making me think again. bw HelenHelenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05597640040480685246noreply@blogger.com
