According to what I've read, there might not be significant differences on how much they give color, but there might be on how they grow in our climate, and how early they flower here. Our problem is that the growing season is so short, that getting new seeds from own plants is difficult.
Thanks for the link, it was very interesting!Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-91779990928162933632012-07-18T11:53:06.367+03:002012-07-18T11:53:06.367+03:00oooh back again! how very timely, see this: http:/...oooh back again! how very timely, see this: http://japanesetextileworkshops.blogspot.com./2012/07/growing-polygonum-tictorium-japanese.htmlneki desuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02780249422205001288noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-1833528828534353722012-07-18T11:49:43.998+03:002012-07-18T11:49:43.998+03:00please let us know about the differences between t...please let us know about the differences between the indigos.nice research topic indeed!
and jealous of your cool weather :)neki desuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02780249422205001288noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-31922724979083229642012-07-16T18:40:14.106+03:002012-07-16T18:40:14.106+03:00Kiitos Ulla:)

Ullanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-9288678428970911582012-07-15T21:21:20.386+03:002012-07-15T21:21:20.386+03:00Louisa, I agree with you that woad is much better ...Louisa, I agree with you that woad is much better also in our climate than chinese woad. Now that it's warmer they're finally putting on some growth. I have no idea what kind mine are but they seem intermediate between your varieties. Flowers are pinkish.

I gave up on Chinese woad. It was weaker, got bug-munched and bolted much faster than regular woad. I think there might not be very big differences in color, but maybe there are differences in how they grow here in my climate, and I know that pointed leaf variety flowers earlier than round leaf type, so it gives me seeds more reliably .Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-51296924584446715472012-07-15T17:47:42.253+03:002012-07-15T17:47:42.253+03:00I was wondring if your different leaf types of Ind...I was wondring if your different leaf types of Indigo give you more or less color?
