I have grown japanese indigo now for si...Hi Louisa,<br />I have grown japanese indigo now for six years, and it feels like I have just scratched the surface, there is so much to know, and every season is different from the other and there are so many variables to growing and dyeing with them. This past year they actually produced seeds in the garden as well as on my windowsill. But that could be because I never harvested them for dye since I was away for August and September. So they had a full season to grow undisturbed. They were also in a different place in the garden. You just never know, do you?
