I am also looking forward to Hydnellum mushrooms, because they give green/ bluish colors.

You can get same kind of colors from other natural dyes, but mushrooms are fun to pick, biggest job is to carry them all home and then dry them. I love forests in the fall, especially after first frosts that kill all the little bugs.Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-20872282335142755182007-06-19T16:17:00.000+03:002007-06-19T16:17:00.000+03:00What beautiful colours!I have never dyed with mush...What beautiful colours!

I have never dyed with mushrooms, so am really interested in those colours, particularly.
Alison in UKWillington Weaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17897691812617450901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-61841606475912831172007-06-16T21:24:00.000+03:002007-06-16T21:24:00.000+03:00Thanks Irma:)In wintertime my husband is in the ma...Thanks Irma:)
In wintertime my husband is in the market, mostly only on Saturdays, so your brother propably really saw our yarns. Sometimes another sheepfarmer is also there, but he doesn't have naturally dyed yarns, they are hand dyed though, and beautiful.

You can knit our yarn with needle that are 2,5-3,5, depending what you make and how tight you knit. I use 2,5 when I'm making mittens or something like that and for scarves I use 3,5.
Our yarn is good for mittens, hats, scarves and sweaters, but for socks it is too thin and soft, so I won't recommend it for them.Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-963662364857682582007-06-16T19:34:00.000+03:002007-06-16T19:34:00.000+03:00Absolutely fantastic colors! For what number needle...Absolutely fantastic colors!
For what number needles is the yarn?
My brother was in Helsinki in February and took a picture of a stand selling yarn.
