Thank you for the idea and tips how to avoid stickiness!
The dry old cones have given me only pale reddish beige, even when I have used a lot of cones and the bath looks dark, but maybe there is a trick how to get more color from them to yarn which I don't know. Or maybe the best color is in the fresh green cones:)Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-10001410801487064372018-01-09T19:19:51.222+02:002018-01-09T19:19:51.222+02:00Leena - Have you tried the cones of your Norway sp...Leena - Have you tried the cones of your Norway spruce? With green cones, I've gotten a really nice rust red color. They're very sticky, though, so I cook them in a turkey roasting bag to keep the pot clean(er). Then filter the dye through some fabric to try to remove most of the stickiness. Seems to work.
Maybe this will inspire me to cook up some of the dry ones I have in the garage.....
Daj - in snowy Maine, USADajhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02376852057144840082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-43740681106279959872018-01-09T11:32:58.653+02:002018-01-09T11:32:58.653+02:00Thank you:)Thank you:)Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-13079027813864625852018-01-08T17:57:32.841+02:002018-01-08T17:57:32.841+02:00Very interesting to read about your experiences!Very interesting to read about your experiences!
Sailahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06424130517694807680noreply@blogger.com
