I would try with the leaves with a long soak.Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-44948657280751378912014-10-19T16:44:26.179+03:002014-10-19T16:44:26.179+03:00Thanks Ladka, this is the first time I tried to dy...Thanks Ladka, this is the first time I tried to dye with used leaves. I think the washfastness is good, because hardly no color washed out when I washed the yarns, but lightfastness is unknown to me, too. it would be interesting to know what dyestuffs there are in woad that give this pink.Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-62426655358405882022014-10-19T16:41:24.910+03:002014-10-19T16:41:24.910+03:00Minäkin pidän siitä sinisestä, tosin hiukan tummem...Minäkin pidän siitä sinisestä, tosin hiukan tummempaa olisin toivonut, mutta kyllä vaaleallekin on aina käyttöä.Leenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14266878515009058403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-90762544944622425732014-10-19T16:23:31.871+03:002014-10-19T16:23:31.871+03:00Thanks for mentioning the sumac - I did not realiz...Thanks for mentioning the sumac - I did not realize the leaves might produce dyes. And it sounds like (as with black walnut) no additional mordanting of the wool is needed? There is a lot of staghorn sumac in my area (Massachusetts, USA). I will try to collect some leaves - if there are any left that didn't blow away in the strong winds last night :)Quinnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17292701509476856967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-16886437634449386192014-10-19T14:53:50.545+03:002014-10-19T14:53:50.545+03:00Nice pinks! You are lucky to have this large amount of woad at hand.<br />Last year I also dyed with used and re-boiled woad leave: sometimes I got more pink and sometimes more tan. I have no idea of the fastness of this pink, hoping it stands washing and light well.Ladkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06804899281049209727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9129357734481422196.post-19591961013701749352014-10-19T12:52:58.213+03:002014-10-19T12:52:58.213+03:00Mielenkiintoinen tuo morsingon lehdistä saatava vä...Mielenkiintoinen tuo morsingon lehdistä saatava väri.
