Winter in the garden

Vähän talvikuvia puutarhasta. Lunta riittää ja lisää on luvassa huomenna. Rusakot ovat tehneet polkujaan puutarhaan ja maistelleet ruusunoksia, ei paljoa onneksi. Kevättä odottelen:)

Some winter photos from my garden, taken yesterday. We have more snow than in years and it is going to snow more tomorrow. Also the winter has been very cold even in south of Finland, in the beginning of December was the last time we had temperatures above the freezing point and the same cold weather continues, seems a long way to spring this year.
I have now ordered seeds for dyeplants and something else, too, so that helps in the middle of winter:)

  4. Thanks for the comments:)
Yep, there are wild hares tracks in the garden, and a moose had walked by (luckily it didn't eat any of my roses). We feed the birds sunflower seeds and nuts, there are mostly different kinds of tits and woodpeckers, and we have seen a small pygmy owl (Glaucidium passerinum)many times in the garden. It is so cute!

I would have thought that southern Estonia is warmer, perhaps this winter is colder for you too?

  5. I live in Maryland in the USA, and we have had unusually large snow storms this year, also. In early February we had 3 feet of snow from one storm, then another foot from another. Usually, 4 or 5 inches is a lot for us.

I like to read your interesting blog; it reminds me of "home" (northern Minnesota) where many Finnish immigrants came. (My great grandparents came from Wasa.)
